Man Killed in ‘Motor Vehicle Incident,’ Prosecutor’s Office Says

Incident occurred Saturday near the area of Route 23 South and the exit ramp to I-80 East.

A 39-year-old man was killed “as the result of a motor vehicle incident” near Route 23 South and the exit ramp to I-80 East Saturday night, authorities said.

The incident, which is still under investigation, occurred at approximately 7:40 p.m., Neil Cleary, the senior assistant Passaic County prosecutor assigned to the major crimes unit said in an e-mail.

Due to “active and ongoing nature of the investigation” Cleary said no additional information would be released on the incident at this time.

“Once the investigation is concluded, our office will determine what additional information to release,” Cleary said.

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes could not be reached for comment.
