Vincent Frantantoni attended his first Town Hall meeting shortly after moving to Belleville in 1967. In the decades since, he has emerged as one of the township's most prominent citizen activists, spearheading campaigns to make local government better and more accountable to the people of Belleville. A former Belleville commissioner, Frantantoni, a self-employed contractor, has served as president of the Concerned Citizens of Belleville, as a trustee of the Passaic River Coalition, as vice-president of the Belleville Chamber of Commerce and as trustee of the United Taxpayers of New Jersey. Hundreds of his letters and opinion pieces have been published in area newspapers through the years.

He and his wife, Phyllis, have three children.
