Michael A. Gottesman, Neighbor

As a retired attorney with over 30 years of practice experience, Michael Gottesman has a varied and wide-ranging working knowledge of the financial industry. He has worked extensively with financial institutions and on estate planning issues with clients.  While Mr. Gottesman no longer practices law, his unique background allowed him to transfer his experience and client service skills to his position as a Financial Professional Associate with The Prudential Insurance Company of America. The transition to Prudential has offered him the perfect means to help clients attain a secure future.

Mr. Gottesman is a graduate of Duke University (1979) with a B.A. in Psychology and Anthropology.  Subsequently, he obtained a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Vanderbilt University Law School (1982).  In addition, he is an educator having served as an Adjunct Professor at the Keller Graduate School of Business, Fairleigh Dickinson University, William Paterson University and Passaic County Community College.

Originally from Queens, New York, Mr. Gottesman moved to Fair Lawn, New Jersey at the age of eight. He met his wife Stacey, and was married in 1985 at which time they moved to Wayne where he has resided for 27 years. He has two daughters, Janelle and Lauren who both attend Montclair State University.

Mr. Gottesman has always been involved in the Greater Wayne community currently serving as the Vice Chairperson of Wayne VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Acting in Disaster) and a member of Wayne CERT. He serves as an advisor to the Wayne Interfaith Network (WIN) and is a member of the New Jersey Information Network on Aging (NJINOA). He is a member of the Knights of Pythias and the Duke University Alumni Advisory Committee. His interests include college basketball, theater and music. He has a commitment to the arts, having served as a trustee for several local theater companies and is an accomplished singer and guitarist.
