ReplyI am all for trying to fill empty buildings that will add to the community and increase tax revenue - but the Lowe's proposal was not the answer. First, it was more than a "few" residents who protested the proposal. The municipal building was packed with concerned residents. Secondly, the majority of the residents protesting where not from Packanack Lake, but from the residential area that butts up against the back of this property. Lastly, the Lowe's proposal did not get approval because it required several variances. The project required a building that was much larger than the structure that currently sits on the site. I also believe they were asking for a variance for the number parking spaces that were required. Its a good thing that the Lowes was not built.

ReplyThe two boys have been identified by neighbors etc - their names are all over the internet. They are Dante and Jutsin Robinson. They are two black boys. While I do not believe, based on the news reports, this had anyting to do with race, I would just like to point out that if the tables were turned and the victim was black, there would be marching in the streets.The fact is this is a horrible situation and there is more than one vicitm here. Autumn, her family and friends and the family and friends of the alleged murderers. While I believe that everyone is responsible for their actions I have to ask, what went so very wrong in the lives of these boys that would make them capable of such a horrible crime?

ReplyObama did do better this debate then the last, but Romney won again, both on presentation and substance. This was particularly impressive considering Romney had to debate Obama and the Moderator.

Reply@ Anita - the article continues to change as Wayne Patch gets more detail. That's the beauty of on-line news articles as opposed to print. Is is very likely that when the posters asked their questions, the answers were not in the article. Early this morning the article contained almost no information other than there was a bus accident and the police and EMS had responded.
