ReplyRegardless of what the mayor or council do over 50% of the budget is for the school system. Get that under control and than focus on the administration. The administration supports the BOE every time so that shows you where the real power is.

ReplyGranted we need a change but do we want it from the area of education. I don't believe that we need more teachers, or graduates from the BOE, involved in the administration of this town.

Another thing, here is a BOE member that has an family income of well over 200k (his and wife's), paying less than 12K in taxes. Should he worry about a 200 dollar increase? I don't think so.

I see, than since Wayne is west of Paterson it must be West Paterson. Makes sense, about as much as some of the other stuff I have been reading on some of these posts.

ReplyI really don't see anything constructive coming out of this dialog. It would be nice if we had a group of concerned citizens to watchdog the BOE budget and suggest cuts but I am afraid that it would soon become a stepping stone for political ambitions.

It seems that here we go again. The state mandates, etc, etc. It is now the same old game, it's not me it's him. Taxes go up because the state tells the BOE to buy IPADs or whatever for each student. More expense because some one in the state has their head in the cloud's.

Alan should be a little less concerned about the appeals and more concerned about the BOE and township budgets.
