Rival GOP Leader Wants Party to Work Together

Joe Bubba Jr. founded the Wayne Republican Organization for the People. He would like to see members of his political organization to work with the current administration for the betterment of the residents.

At least one individual in town wants to work together with the current Republican administration and find a way to better represent people’s interests at the local level of government. It is expected that Mayor Chris Vergano will drop incumbent Councilwoman Lonni Miller Ryan from the Republican ticket next week. Vergano did not respond to a request for comment. Miller Ryan said she would run for re-election whether she is included on the party’s ticket or not. At Large Councilmen Joseph Schweighardt and James Jimenez are also up for re-election. New Republican Organization Looks To Challenge Political Establishment

Wayne Regular Republican Party for the People focused on rejecting tax-and-spend method of governing.

A group of residents has formed a new local Republican Party ticket in the hopes of giving residents an alternative to the Wayne Regular Republican Organization (WRRO). The Wayne Republican Party for the People (WRPP) is focused on rejecting what it calls a “tax-and-spend” system of government in town. Joe Bubba founded the 200-member organization. “Our organization is based on engaging the public and voting in a manner that is consistent with the will of the people,” said Bubba. There are eight Republicans on the nine-member council. Chris McIntyre is the lone Democrat. Mayor Chris Vergano is also a Republican. Bubba referenced the fact that the council last year voted to increase the municipal portion of residents’ taxes by $89. The vote…

Susan Brigida lives in a lakefront house with nearly 5,000 sq ft. It's probably worth 1.5 million dollars. She pays $39,000 in taxes....ok. The average schmuck in Wayne owns a 1400-sq ft. fixer-upper and pays 10,000-12,000 in taxes. Do the math, 3 times the size, three times the taxes....
