Wayne Ford hosts event for Bob Franco, who suffered a spinal cord injury during Sandy.
Wayne Ford stepped up to help show their support for Officer Bob Franco, a Wayne police officer who suffered a severe spinal cord injury during Storm Sandy. "This is overwhelming and greatly appreciated," Franco said. "I am getting better every day." Franco was seriously injured during Superstorm Sandy in October when a tree fell on the vehicle he was occupying. Capt. Mark McGrath immediately rushed to help Franco and dozens of police and emergency workers rescued him. Franco underwent weeks of physical rehabiliation and has made remarkable progress. Wayne Ford is working to give back to Officer Bob Franco with A Day to Remember: Field Day for Franco; First Responder Appreciation Day. The event will be held at Wayne Ford from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 23. Franco, a Wayne police officer, suffered a severe spinal cord injury when a tree fell on the vehicle he was in during superstorm Sandy. Although he risked death, Franco continues to improve and hopes to be back at work soon. Wayne Ford will donate $200 to Franco for every vehicle that is sold March 23. The dealership also will donate $5 for every person who attends and signs in at the event. First responders will receive special pricing on vehicles that day.
