A new policy outlining the appropriate use of social media by school district employees, particularly teachers, was introduced by the Board of Education Thursday. The policy covers all social media sites and applications, including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Google+, among others. “Employees should exercise care in setting appropriate boundaries between their personal and public online behavior, understanding that what is private in the digital world often has the possibility of becoming public even without their knowledge or consent,” the policy states. Did we receive a "tweet" from outer space in 1977? Some people believe so. A radio transmission that is known as the Wow! signal is being remembered thanks to a new television program by the National Geographic Channel. That show, "Chasing UFOs," premieres Friday at 9 p.m. and is hoping to get a bit of a push by bringing up the historic incident. People are being urged to tweet between 8 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday with the hashtag #ChasingUFOs and their messages to space. The tweets will all be beemed up to space in one single message, according to representatives for the channel.
