Police are stepping patrols after a series of burglaries this month and the announceemnt that a Wayne Hills student earned a perfect score on the SAT were some of the top stories on Wayne Patch this week. A Wayne man was indicted on kidnapping and robbery charges stemming from an incident that occurred last year at KFC restaurant. Police said they are stepping up patrols in areas where there have been burglaries recently. Jewelry and electronics were taken from a few homes in February. Austin Hong, a junior attending Wayne Hills High School, has earned a perfect score on the SAT. Council President Nadine Bello represents the 6th Ward.
Despite putting her home up for sale, Councilwoman Nadine Bello isn’t going anywhere. Bello’s home, a five-bedroom Colonial, is up for sale. But despite what some people have said is a sign she would resign, Bello said she has no intention of stepping down. “It’s a personal thing,” said Bello, a Republican who represents the 6th Ward. “It has nothing to do with me being on the council. We’re a small family, and we’re downsizing. We just felt that the time is right.” Bello is a certified environmental inspector and works for New Wave Consultants. She consults to individuals in the environmental and educational fields regarding various environmental compliance regulations. “We’re a New Jersey business, and we’re planning on staying [here],” …

A new council president was selected, Board of Educate trustees were sworn in, and a pair of alledged burglars was arrested. Those were some of the top stories that happened in Wayne this past week. Councilwoman Nadine Bello was elected council president for 2013 at the township’s annual reorganization meeting on Wednesday. Bello, who represents the 6th Ward, was unanimously elected to the position. Eileen Albanese, Kim Essen, and Michael Bubba were sworn in to three-year terms on the Wayne Board of Education on Thursday. Mitchell Badiner was appointed president. Essen is an incumbent. Kevin Hughes sold hundreds of candy canes to raise money for Officer Bob Franco and his family. To date, he has raised more than $900 and the Wayne Valley …
