Challenger and long-time incumbent will face off to represent the state's 11th Congressional District. Wayne is joining the district beginning next year.
Democratic congressional candidate John Arvanites will debate long-time incumbent Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen on Wednesday at William Paterson University at 7 p.m. The debate is open to the public. The two are vying for representation of New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District. One of the two will represent Wayne as the township moves to the district beginning in 2013. The move comes as a result of the 2010 census. Arvanites is a certified public accountant and former mayor of Roseland. Frelinghuysen has served in Congress since being elected in 1995. John Arvanites wants to represent everyone. Arvanites is the Democratic candidate running to represent New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District. Wayne will be included in the newly redrawn district due to the results of the 2010 Census. Arvanites is running against longtime incumbent Rodney Frelinghuysen.
