A new Quick Chek will be located on Hamburg Turnpike in a few years. The Planning Board approved the privately owned company’s application Tuesday to build a new convenience store and gas station on the former Chrysler Dodge property. The site is located at the intersection of Hamburg Turnpike and Ratzer Road. The new business would occupy the one vacant corner in what is an otherwise busy intersection. CVS, 7-Eleven, and Brother Bruno’s Pizza are all located around the property. William Paterson University is located a few hundred feet up the road. Increased patrols and tips from residents have resulted in a number of arrests this summer.
Police will continue to patrol the area in and around CVS where “numerous” drug related arrests have occurred in recent weeks. Police Chief John Reardon said there have been several instances of people trying to fill false prescriptions at the location recently. The location has been a popular choice for shoplifters to hit too. Two New York men were charged with credit card theft after police said they had 48 fraudulent cards in their possession. The men were found in the CVS parking lot. CVS is located less than a mile from the Wayne-Paterson border and across from William Paterson University. Police regularly patrol the area. New York residents arrested in the area of Ratzer Road and Hamburg Turnpike last week.
Two New York men were charged with credit card theft after police said they had 48 fraudulent cards in their possession in a car in the CVS parking lot at the intersection of Ratzer Road and Hamburg Turnpike Wednesday night. Adam Ferguson and Devon Jenkins, both 21, of the Bronx, N.Y., were each charged with fraudulent use of a credit card. Jenkins was also charged with providing false information. According to an incident report, Officer Ryan Vallaro saw a car parked far behind the CVS. Police have been patrolling the area more due to “numerous drug arrests” they have made there recently, police said. The store has also been the target of shoplifters recently, the report states. Hackensack University Medical Center physicians will serve as medical directors of MinuteClinics walk-in medical clinics.
In a partnership with CVS and MinuteClinics division, Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) physicians will serve as medical directors for six CVS MinuteClinics. These clinics offer patients walk-in services for common illnesses and wellness and prevention services, such as cholesterol, diabetes and blood pressure screening and monitoring. Under this agreement, HUMC physicians will also refer patients to one another when additional care is needed that the MinuteClinic cannot provide to the patient. In addition to this collaboration, the patient can give permission for the MinuteClinic to electronically share their medical history with HUMC locations in northeast New Jersey.
