State is Working with Students Affected by School's Closing

Department of Labor and Workforce Development asking for students to send them information regarding their enrollment at the CDM Institute. The school's Wayne location suddenly closed down recently.

The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development is working to assistant students who were enrolled at the CDM Technical Institute in Wayne. The privately-owned and operated vocational school, which has nine locations throughout New Jersey, abruptly shut down its Wayne location last week without explanation.  The Wayne campus was its main location. The Better Business Bureau of New Jersey (BBB) has received 11 written complaints, phone calls, and e-mails about the school’s closing. The BBB has contacted the state’s Department of Labor and Workforce Development (LWD) about the school’s closing. The BBB has updated its information about the school on its website. Daniel: My daughter attended CDM Institute and graduated in October and passed her test. However, I was completing paperwork and needed the schools Federal ID number. How do I go about obtaining this number? Does anyone out there know the Federal ID Number for this school? Any help would be greatly appreciated.. CDM Institute's Abrupt Closing Under Investigation

Facility shut down without warning this week. The school offers training in a variety of fields, including accounting and health care.

The state is investigating the sudden closing of the CDM Institute on Galesi Drive, NorthJersey.com reported Friday. The school shut down this week without explanation, the website reported. Students said they found out about the closing when they went to the school Wednesday night and found the doors locked. The 22-year-old Wayne school is part of a network of career schools in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. The school offers training in accounting, bookkeeping, office administration, and health care. A phone number listed for the institute was still active Friday night but the school’s website was not working. Students expressed their frustration on message boards Friday night. Some said they lost thousands of dollars in tuition…

It's interesting because I was actually going to attend this trade school during the summer but I ended up moving.... They never reimbursed me, I just recently got back in the Vineland nj area and tried to go to see what was going on with my refund being I called the summer I left and was promised to have a check for my reimbursement....
