Schuyler-Colfax Middle School
Schuyler-Colfax Middle School is one of three middle schools in the Wayne Public Schools district (the other two are Anthony Wayne and George Washington).
Students who attend Schuyler-Colfax are in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades.
School officials emphasize the importance of technology in their classrooms. Students use laptops connected to the school's wireless network, take advantage of two Web-connected computer labs and a media center and work in an up-to-date science lab. Teachers use interactive "white boards" and textbooks with online components.
The school says its mission is "to help early adolescents prepare for a lifetime of learning in a changing world by developing each student's creative, intellectual and physical potential as well as fostering a sense of responsibility, self-worth and respect for others."
