Garage Sale Helps Family Pay Medical Bills, Church Combats Childhood Obesity This Weekend

Elissa Betterbid’s family is holding a moving sale at their home, 57 Oakwood Drive, on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Proceeds from the sale will help the family pay for Betterbid’s medical bills. She suffered serious injuries when she was hit by a drunk driver on a New York state highway. The sale was originally scheduled to occur Saturday before the accident took place.

Furniture, houseware, clothing, and collectibles will be sold.

The Wayne Seventh Day Adventists Church will hold its third annual Let’s Move Day: 5K Run/Walk.

The event is designed to support healthy living and combat childhood obesity.

All participants have the opportunity to win prizes.

The event begins at 8 a.m. on Sunday.

Registration costs $20, $25 the day of the event. Kids may participate for free if their parents participate.
