Board of Ed. to Hire Assistant Principals, Toy Show This Week

Here is a sample of a few things going on in Wayne this week.

The Board of Education will vote on several personnel moves, including the hiring of several assistant principals, at a meeting on Thursday. The meeting, which was rescheduled from earlier in the month, will take place in the council chamber in the municipal complex Monday beginning at 7:30 p.m. 

The Planning Board will continue to discuss a sweeping redevelopment plan designed to improve the tax base and foster economic growth at a meeting Monday. We’ll attend the meeting and let you know if anything new is presented and if more residents express their displeasure with the plan.

The New Jersey Toy and Collectibles Show will be held at the Company 1 firehouse on Sunday, Sept. 1 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Dozens of vendors will have tables with comic books, movie memorabilia, small antiques, action figures, dolls, trains, Hot Wheels vehicles, model kits, and G.I. Joe figurines will be available to purchase.

Admission is $2 for adults; kids 12 and younger will be admitted free. Parking is free. For more information, click here.
