Wayne Honors DePaul State Championship Football Team

The team captured the school's first state title since 1992.

The Wayne Township Council honored the DePaul Catholic High School Football team this week with a proclamation recognizing its accomplishments this past season.

The Big Green captured the NJSIAA Non-Public Group 2 Title by beating Holy Spirit 25-16 in a championship game in December.

The win marked the first state title for the school in football since 1992, and only the third overall in school history.

Ward 4 Councilman Joseph Scuralli, a DePaul grad, presented the award, noting that the team was able to win thanks to a “roster exploding with skill, superior speed, and talent.”
