Wayne Couple Wins Super Bowl Tickets in Charity Raffle

The tickets were the grand prize in a Lions Club raffle that raised money for the disabled in the community.

A Wayne couple that entered a Lions Club raffle earlier this month will be occupying two seats on the 20-yard line come Sunday's big game at MetLife Stadium.

According to a release from the Wayne Lions' Club Friday, Ron and Kathy Vanderploeg got a phone call from club members earlier this month announced that their names were pulled to win two tickets to the Super Bowl, sitting at level 1, row 19. Each ticket has a face value of $1,500.

According to the club, the Vanderploegs "couldn't believe it" when they won the tickets.

The raffle was a fundraiser for the Non-Profit Club.  They netted over $20,000 on the raffle and that money will provide many benefits to the disabled in the community, the release said.
