Wayne Hills QB Vying For MVP Of 'Elite' Camp

ESPN chronicles nationally-ranked Kevin Olsen at Elite 11 football camp.

Wayne Hills’ Kevin Olsen is trying to prove to everyone that he is the best of the best.

Olsen is one of 25 high school quarterbacks in the nation highlighted this week on the first part of the “Elite 11 Quarterback Camp” finals on Tuesday.

Former Super Bowl-winning quarterback Trent Dilfer ran the camp.

The episode showed the young men going through a few days of training, including working with some members of the Armed Forces at 4:30 a.m.

Although the coaching staff left him out of their initial ranking of the top 11 participants, Olsen still has a chance to prove himself and not only make the top 11 but be named MVP of the camp. A second one-hour long episode will air Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 7 p.m.

Olsen led to North 1, Group 3 state championships in his first two seasons as the Patriots’ starting quarterback, including a at MetLife Stadium. He led his team 89 yards down the field and threw what proved to be the game-winning touchdown with 3:15 to go in the game.

ESPN.com ranks Olsen as the No. 5 quarterback and No. 77 overall prospect in the country for his class.

Olsen has after his senior season at Hills. His brother Greg, a tight end with the NFL’s Carolina Panthers, is an alumnus of the university.  

Olsen is the subject of MSG Varsity’s first ever documentary “New Jersey’s Last Patriot.”

MSG Varsity’s Steve Levy traveled the country with Olsen as he visited some of the country’s top football schools before making his decision on Miami. (Click here to view a trailer for the film.)

The film also highlights the history of the Olsen family’s football legacy.

Olsen will try and help his father Chris win his ninth state group championship next year.
