Olsen's Rehab Will Be Filmed for Documentary

'New Jersey's Last Patriot' highlights star quarterback Kevin Olsen's senior season as the Wayne Hills Patriots try and win a third consecutive state title. Olsen suffered a broken bone in his foot last week.

Star quarterback Kevin Olsen’s rehabilitation will be filmed for possible inclusion in Part II of “New Jersey’s Last Patriot.”

A spokesperson for MSG Varsity confirmed the fact earlier this week when asked if Olsen's injury would have any impact on the filming of Part II of the documentary.

Olsen suffered a broken bone in his foot during the Patriots’ 56-7 win over Northern Highlands last week. He could be out for six to eight weeks. Backup quarterback Justin DeGroat will start in Olsen’s place starting Friday night when the Patiots play crosstown rival Wayne Valley High School.

"Our plan in producing part two of New Jersey's Last Patriot has not really changed that much because of Kevin's injury,” said Michael Lardner, executive producer and senior vice president of MSG Varsity. “We are going to continue to follow the entire football season — the coaches and the team. And, we will continue to pursue storylines as they develop."

MSG Varsity’s first documentary stars Olsen, his family, and the rest of the Patriots football team. Part I was filmed last season and earlier this year. It tells the story of Olsen, his family, and the team as it won a second consecutive state championship. Part II is being filmed this season.
