Wayne Elks Hoop Shoot

Local kids can participate in the Wayne Elks Lodge #2181 National "Hoop Shoot" free throw contest free of charge on Saturday, November 12,2011 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary's School Gym. Winners in each category receive trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place.

Registration is at 12:30 and the contest will begin at 1:00 PM,competition will be held for kids in age brackets 8&9, 10&11, 12&13.  Age requirements are as of April 1, 2012. All kids need to bring are sneakers and a copy of their birth certificate.

Kids in the Elk's free throw contest advance through local, district, state and national levels.  One boy and one girl in each of the three categories win a national title at the finals in Springfield, Mass.  Parents get to travel to Springfield with the kids to share in this special event with the child.

The top six national finalists' names are inscribed in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
