Wayne to Host Community Forum on Teen Drug Use

Speakers will share 'hard truths about the growing problem among teens in and around our community,' school says.

The Wayne Public School system sent out the following note to parents in an e-newsletter last week:

This fall, the Township and School District partnered together for the first time to host the Wayne Community Forum on Teen Drug Use. Hundreds of concerned members of the community attended the event and had the opportunity to hear directly from a panel of professionals that included the Mayor, Superintendent, Wayne Police Department, Passaic County Prosecutors Office, Chilton Hospital, Drug Court, and School administrators.

Each speaker shared the hard truths about the growing problem among teens in and around our community in an attempt to raise awareness.

In continuation of our efforts, we will be hosting another Community Forum on Teen Drug use on Tuesday, June 3, at 7 p.m. in the Wayne Valley High School auditorium.

Once again, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from a variety of speakers to further understand the warning signs to look out for and identify the resources available to help. The ultimate goal of coming together as a community around this problem is to help everyone answer the questions: Why should I care? What are the signs? What can I do?

Please mark your calendars, join us, and bring a friend. Together, we can make a difference.
