Wayne Police Swear In Fifth Grade Safety Officers
Students will carry out safety responsibilities at school, like helping younger students cross the street.

The Safety Patrol is a volunteer organization at Albert Payson Terhune elementary school.
The Safety Patrol is comprised of only fifth grade students. They arrive before the entry time every morning. They walk the children from the younger grades into the facility.
A.P. Terhune has half day kindergarten. These students also come out mid-afternoon to aide in bringing the afternoon kindergarten session into the building.
The fifth grade students were sworn in on Jan. 27 to uphold the bylaws of the Safety Patrol.
