Wayne Kindergarten Registration Entirely Online for Second Year

Registration is now open and district officials recommend registering as soon as possible.

Wayne township public schools announced the following via an email blast to locals Wednesday.

Online registration is already well underway for all students who will attend kindergarten in Wayne Township Public Schools beginning September 2014.

“It's important for families to register their children for kindergarten as soon as possible," explains Dr. Raymond González, superintendent, Wayne Township Public Schools.

“Early registration helps the school district prepare for the upcoming year by providing an accurate count of the total number of incoming students."

District families without online access may contact their neighborhood school for registration assistance. The spring of 2014 marks the second year the district is registering incoming kindergarten students exclusively online.

Children who will be five years old on or before October 15, 2014, are eligible to enter kindergarten in Wayne Township Public Schools. Interested families should visit www.wayneschools.com to complete the on-line registration form, provide the required health information, and also gather details about such programs as Safety Town.

Questions may be directed to the district's Office of Elementary Education, at 973.317-2188 or dpandolfi@wayneschools.com.

Wayne Township Public Schools consist of two high schools (Wayne Valley and Wayne Hills), three middle schools (Schuyler Colfax, George Washington, and Anthony Wayne), and nine elementary schools (Tennis Dye, Ryerson, Randall Carter, Pines Lake, Packanack, Lafayette, John F. Kennedy, James Fallon, and AP Terhune). These 14 schools serve more than 8,500 students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
