Wayne Kids Lose Half a Spring Break Day Thanks to Snow

Students in Wayne will be back in school by the end of their week-long vacation.

Kids in Wayne will be in school for one day that was supposed to be Spring Recess, thanks to Mother Nature.

According to a post on the Wayne Schools district website Friday, students will go in for a minimal day on April 11, the final school day of the break.

The district posted the following announcement about the need for one additional day:

Due to the excessive inclement weather events this year, Wayne Township Public Schools has exceeded the five allotted emergency days that were built into the calendar. As a result, the school district is required to make-up one day of instruction in order to comply with the 180-day requirement under N.J.S.A.18A:7F-9 in order to receive state aid.

Therefore, per our 2013-14 school calendar, all Wayne Township Public Schools will operate on a minimal day schedule for students on, Friday, April 11. Please click here to view the minimal day schedule.
