VIDEO: Friends 'Scream' Out for Bullying Victims with Song
'This song is about letting the victims know that they are not alone': Jessica Amill, 16.
Sometimes Jessica Amill and Justin Plunkett just want to scream.
The students say they are frustrated by the constant sight of their classmates and peers being bullied in the hallways and on the Internet. The pair took out their frustrations by writing a song titled “Scream for You.”
“This song is about letting the victims know that they are not alone,” said Amill, 16, who wrote the lyrics. “These kids need someone to notice them, to have someone be there to listen to what they are going through. They’re also screaming out—for help.”

Plunkett said that the state’s is “amazing” and that teachers have stepped up their efforts to curb bullying, but teachers can’t see everything.
“There’s always going to be something that teachers don’t see and there’s no way to make it stop 100 percent,” said Plunkett, who is also 16. “There’s always going to be things that only the person who’s doing the bullying and the person being bullied will see. But with this song, we’re trying to help them. We’re giving those people a voice.”

The pair performed the song at a Board of Education meeting recently.
Amill’s favorite songwriters are the ones who write songs out of passion, because they truly believe in the lyrics they write. She says this is true of “Scream for You” and her.
“You can see and feel the emotion they put into their songs. They mean something special to them,” Amill said. “And that's how it is with this song for us.”
Here are the lyrics to "Scream for You":
Thoughts keep rushin' through my head
It's 2 a.m. I'm jumping out of bed
Trapped in the hallways, in my mind
Where school bullies live to give hard times
Failing grades, and bad addictions
Never seem to end
Chorus: So I scream, out for you, to rescue me
Hold me in your arms
And turn my nightmares into dreams
Wipe my tears away
Make me feel that it's okay
I'm just lonely in this crowd
And my heart aches, all the time
And my mind is so confused
I'm just lost so I scream for you
Oh, I scream yeah yeah!
Chorus: Scream out for you, to rescue me
Hold me in your arms
And turn my nightmares into dreams
Wipe my tears away
If I need someone
To be there beside me
Will you be there
To hold my hand and guide me
So I know I can trust you
To catch me when I fall
I need you to help me
Help me through it all
Loneliness tries to be my friend
Feeling scared and alone with demons, playing in my head
So I just cry without a reason
Lies won't cure this pain I'm feeling
I'm afraid, without you
Chorus: So I scream out for you, to rescue me
Hold me in your arms
And turn my nightmares into dreams
Wipe my tears away...
