Two New Principals Coming to Wayne Schools

New hires were prompted by retirements, report says.

Two new principals are coming to the Wayne school district, NorthJersey.com reported.

According to the report, retirements at John F. Kennedy Elementary School and Schuyler-Colfax Middle School have led to new hires.

At JFK, Donna Shelichach will take over for outgoing principal Richard Erck. Shelichach currently serves as assistant VP at A.P. Terhune Elementary, John F. Kennedy Elementary, and Ryerson Elementary schools, and has worked in Wayne schools in various capacities for the past 18 years, the report said.

At the middle school, retiring principal Frank Markowick will be replaced by Aimee Toth, the report said.

Toth has been the assistant principal at the school since 2012, and has worked in the district for 10 years, it said.

The BOE will never ever admit to their mistakes and there are plenty to admit to over the years. Between their closed door meetings, always claiming confidentiality BS with payments and salaries etc. They get away with a lot. Why does Nellis Drive need a soundproof room? Why is so much hidden from the taxpayers. Its our money an we have every right to know where EVERY dollar goes.

15% achievement bonus on goals he sets himself? That's the BS that goes on here. Allowing him to set goals, I think the employer should be setting the goals not the employee. The employer being the BOE.

In reference to Marta's comments about Mr. Reis warning the BOE of making these educationall unsound changes regarding department heads, grading etc. I still have an e-mail in my possession which I sent to Laura Stinziano in 2013 saying quite the same thing and I had at least one conversation with her about this not being the right thing for our system. She is a product of the Wayne school system and was a student of mine in the 1980's. She certainly had some idea of how we operated. Of course she gave me the you are right but since she obviously has this allegiance to Gonzalez and not to the sound education of our students in Wayne she rubber stamps him and so do her cohorts and we are in a mess. The powers that be on this BOE who hired the super and the assistant should be ashamed of themselves and step down. I have already posted my feelings as to how a new super might be better chosen and also about new BOE members being elected.

JoAnn, You are 100% correct about these two. Do you agree she shouldn't be allowed to stay after her incident just so she can collect her pension? The BOE in Wayne accounts for a lot of the problems here. And yes they rubber stamp Gonzalez because not to would admit their failure which they never will do. Not only do we need new leadership we also need a new BOE crew. They probably didn't want Reis because he knows to much about what goes on in Wayne. Therefore they didn't back him at all. What a shame. And they bring these two in to clean our pockets out. She has done absolutely nothing but collect a paycheck. What a waste!
