Turkey Trot Helps Wayne Families This Holiday Season
Third annual event is designed to help Wayne families put food on the table this holiday season.
The third annual Turkey Trot was held at Ryerson Elementary School Tuesday.
Students, teachers, and parents donated several dozen bags of food this month that will be given to the Wayne Food Pantry run by the Wayne Council of Parent Teacher Organizations. The food will then be given to local families.
All of the school's students, faculty, and some parents walked in the Turkey Trot.
"This community really does give back," said Ryerson Principal Susan Wardell. "The Ryerson community has had their share of loss this year and it's their way of giving back and helping people."
