All three incumbents on the board, Darren Del Sardo, Donald Pavlak Jr., and Joan Walsh are running for re-election. Gregory Janz, Robyn Kingston, and Laura Stinziao are also running for election to the board.

Kingston and Stinziano are co-presidents of the Wayne Council of Parent Teacher Organizations, a $1.3 million not-for-profit entity that works to educate residents about the school district and provide a support system for parents and guardians.

“The Board needs new energetic members who will bring a fresh perspective and will strive for excellence,” Kingston and Stiniziano said in a joint statement. “We have been very involved in the district for the past seven years and we feel the time is right for us to pursue a seat on the Board of Education.”

Kingston and Stiniziano have taken a leave of absence as presidents of the PTO while pursuing their seats on the board, Janine Del Vecchio, the council’s acting president, said in an e-mail.

A Candidates Night will be held in the council chambers in the municipal building April 5 at 7 p.m. The public will have the opportunity to ask the candidates questions at the event.
