JCP&L donated the cherry tree.

Students at Pines Lake Elementary School in Wayne celebrated Arbor Day with reps from Jersey Central Power & Light, the utility announced in a release. The JCP&L crew helped the students, staff, and Wayne Mayor Chris Vergano plant and dedicate an ornamental cherry trees at the school Friday. The utility donated the tree.

“We are proud to join with local schools to support the mission of the Arbor Day Foundation, which is to plant, nurture and celebrate trees,” JCP&L President Jim Fakult said in the release.

“Events like these support our long-standing commitment to promote excellence in tree care, training and public education.”
