Hills Team Advances in 'The Challenge' Competition

Patriots will face off next on May 21.

The Wayne Hills Patriots defeated Cardinal McCarrick High School in the third round of “The Challenge" recently. 

The team will face the winner of Mountain Lakes and Howell high schools on Tuesday, May 21 at 6:30 p.m. on MSG Varsity. Those teams are scheduled to compete on Thursday.

“The Challenge” is a knowledge-based competition sponsored by MSG Varsity. Hills is one of 192 high schools from the tri-state area participating in the competition. Forty-eight of the schools are from New Jersey.

The members of the Hills’ team are: Aline Naroditsky, Captain Chamaka Kalutota, Tiffany Dharia, Lauren Markovich, and alternates) Harika Tuzun, and Tyler Janoski.

Participating schools advance through a series of elimination rounds, with one school in each region being crowned regional champion and winning $2,500 for their school.

The winning teams from each region go on to “The Challenge” Championship where they square off in a Tri-State Showdown. The school awarded the title of Tri-State Champion will receive $10,000 in prize money and each student participating in the championship game will receive $500.
