Free Work Readiness Program

Women In Transition is offering an all-encompassing Work Readiness Program designed to help eligible women prepare to re-enter the workforce and obtain living wage employment opportunities.  Beginning Tuesday, October 9th participants will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm for six weeks to fine-tune job search techniques, sharpen skills and market yourself in this competitive job market. Job search and work training areas will include: personality and interest assessment; goal setting and career planning; resume writing; interviewing and salary negotiation skills.
Difficult to answer interview questions like, “Where do you see yourself in five years from now?” and “Tell me about yourself” will be discussed. The program will also include an interview practice session and critique.

Women In Transition, a program of Wayne Counseling and Family Services, is a displaced homemaker program, serving women who have lost financial support due to separation, divorce, widowhood or disability of their spouse.  Located at Wayne Counseling and Family Services, 1022 Hamburg Turnpike, Wayne, WIT is funded through a grant from the State of New Jersey, Department of Community Affairs, Division on Women.
