What a joke! First they have early dismissal hours before a flake of snow hits the ground, now they have a delayed opened because it's cold out!!! I just don't understand the thought process of doc Gonzo and his cohorts down on Nellis drive.

bp Ice. Black ice. And that's no joke.

Is the black ice gonna be gone when the kids go to school?! Of not what's the point of delay?! Forecast calls for some rain, should be cancel school now so the kids don't get wet?
Chicken Little January 07, 2014 at 08:02 AM
Don't recall school every being delayed for rain (other than a hurricane), so, no, I don't think school should be cancelled for rain so the kids don't get wet. But the delayed opening will give the schools some exgtra time to deal with ice on their property. What's the real problem, BP? Delayed opening screw up your yoga class or nail salon appointment? ;-)

No yoga or nails. Just concerned at how quick they are to cancel school. Twice been delayed or early dismissal due to threat of snow with no actual snow and now because of cold temperatures.

Gotta go to work. Be safe, and warm.

Bad decision twice in two weeks. Tough to be working parents in this town with all the inconsistency in the school schedule. Roads are absolutely fine.

Nothing wrong with roads that I saw this morning. Between today and last Thursday early dismissal, I just don't understand the thought process.

Jack Q: I suspect the perfidious stuper is just being overly cautious to keep from having to defend himself and screw up his CV for his next application for employment.

Wayne isn't the only one with delayed openings and all the other calls from the past few weeks. It's very difficult for working parents especially when the roads are fine. However, the safety of the children should always come first. Instead of being angry at the super, place blame on the news since their main story that runs all day and night is the dangerous cold weather. At least he made the call at a decent time so many could make alternate arrangements for our delayed opening today.

FP, "perfidious", nice word.
