Dance Team Advances To Next Round Of Talent Show

DePaul Catholic dance team will face off against more competition on the show's May 20 episode. If the team wins then it will advance to the finals on May 27. First place is a private workshop with Broadway choreographers and a trip to see a musical.

The dance team has moved onto the second round of MSG Varsity’s Talent Show competition.

The team than the Sachem North Varsity Arrowettes and will face off against the Piscataway Chiefs dance team in the show’s May 20 episode.

The May 20 episode will air on MSG Varsity on 8:30 p.m. Voting opens that same time on the Talent Show’s Web site.

The 17-member dance team was founded in 2007. The team regularly performs at basketball and lacrosse games and at pep rallies. Wayne residents Amanada Giuliano, Nicole Muncgal, and Gabriella Ferrara are on the team.

If the Spartans receive the most votes again, the team will move on to face the winner of the Rosa Parks High School Dance Ensemble and the Larkin Dancers of Studio L on May 27.

Winners will be announced June 3. The grand prize is a trip to see “Memphis” on Broadway and attend a workshop hosted by the show’s choreographers.

MSG Varsity is broadcast on iO TV channel 14.

The competition is designed to showcase the area’s best high school singers, dance ensembles, and vocal groups. The competition is in its second year.
