Board of Ed Accepts Applications for Vacant Spot

Kingston resigned her seat this week. Applicants have until Jan. 25 to apply.

The Board of Education is accepting applications to replace trustee Robyn Kingston.

Kingston resigned from the Board Jan. 9. She and her family moved to Texas because her husband accepted a job there months ago. Officials announced Kingston’s resignation at a Board meeting Thursday.

The term of service will be until the next Board election in November. The person may choose to run for a one-year term in this year’s election and a full three-year term in 2014.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be able to read and write.
  • Be registered to vote in Wayne and not be disqualified as a voter under state law.
  • Reside in Wayne for at least one year.
  • Have no interest in any contract with, or claim against, the Board.

Current elected officials are exempt from applying.

Interested applicants can send a letter of interest, along with a brief resume, to Juanita Petty, RSBA, Business Administrator/Board Secretary, Wayne Board of Education, 50 Nellis Drive, Wayne, NJ 07470.

The deadline is apply is Jan. 25.
