Wayne VOAD will hold an emergency meeting at 9:00am on Saturday, October 27, at The Packanack Community Church in order to review our Incident Action Plan and prepare to respond in the event that Hurricane Sandy has a significant impact on our area. While it is too early to know what path the storm will take or how powerful it will be, this review will be an important periodic assessment of our disaster preparedness capabilities even if we are not affected by Hurricane Sandy. If you are willing and able to help us respond in the event of an approaching disaster, please mark your calendar and plan to attend.
Also, please plan to have dinner at BRIO Tuscan Grill at Willowbrook Mall on Monday, October 29. BRIO routinely offers "Make a Difference Monday" fundraisers for local charitable organizations. That evening, 20% of all food sale proceeds from both lunch and dinner will be donated to Wayne VOAD. Reservations are recommended. For more information, go to BrioItalian.com or call 973-256-0001. Watch for more information in the days ahead about Wayne VOAD's response to Hurricane Sandy. If you are in an area that is prone to flooding, please monitor the Wayne Township website atwww.waynetownship.com and please heed all advice and warnings. Residents are urged to monitor weather and hydrographs closely and to stay alert for updates, advisories and warnings on the OEM telephone bulletin board at 973-694-5050, cable tv WMC77, the mainstream media, and the township web site.
