WAYNE VOAD ANNOUNCES
FOOD REPLACEMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (Deadline: November 16)
Households that were without power for more than 4 days can apply for assistance from Wayne VOAD to help replace food that spoiled in their refrigerators. Those seeking assistance must apply through the Department of Social Services by contacting Regina Parks at 973-694-1800, ext. 3281 or ParksR@WayneTownship.com. Application must be received by Friday, November 16, at the latest. After that date, a determination will be made regarding how much each household will receive based upon available funds and number of applicants. Assistance will be provided on the basis of economic hardship and length of power outage, with special consideration given to families with children and those on a limited income.
DONORS ARE NEEDED TO HELP PROVIDE FUNDING FOR THE PROGRAM. Donations can be made payable to "Wayne VOAD" and mailed to 189 Berdan Avenue, Box 275, Wayne, NJ, 07470. Gift cards to local food stores can be delivered to Regina Parks at the municipal center. Thank you for helping our neighbors-in-need!
