Request for Food from WIN Food Pantry

WIN Food Pantry

Hello Everyone,  Please read Pastor Karyn's email below.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dear People of Wayne,

Find out what's happening in Waynewith free, real-time updates from Patch.

The WIN Food Pantry has asked me to send out an appeal for food. While donations of non-perishable food have been coming in at a steady rate in recent months, the shelves have suddenly become empty once again. The pantry is currently packing bags of food for approximately 20 families every week (80 families per month), so the rate of turnover is very high.

A list of items most needed is shown below. Please do not donate any expired food, as all expiration dates are checked and expired food is disposed of.

Donations can be left at the church on Monday through Thursday between 9:00am and 2:00pm (or any other time that the building is unlocked). If possible, please carry the food down the hall to where the pantry is located. The Office Manager can help you find it. Also, please mark the name of the person or organization that is donating the food. Bags of food can also be left outside, weather permitting. (No non-perishables, please.)

Volunteers are always needed to help sort, shelve and pack food. To volunteer, please come to The Packanack Community Church, 120 Lake Drive East on any Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday at 9:30am. To ensure that WIN volunteers are here to assist, please call the church in advance at 973-694-0608.

Finally, while food is in very short supply, the food pantry has ample supplies of pasta, canned soup and canned corn. Please do not donate these items.

Thank you for your generosity and for being willing to help our neighbors in need.
