Wayne Residents Join Protests Against Christie's Common Core Order

Wayne residents joined organizations from across the state to protest against Christie's PARCC executive order, issued last week.

Several Wayne residents joined a rally July 17th as members of the statewide organization Save Our Schools to protest against Governor Christie's executive order last week regarding the state's Partnership for Assessment and Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) tests, northjersey.com is reporting.

PARCC is based on New Jersey's Common Core curriculum standards, and has been a source of issues with students, as well as teachers and parents, since it was mandated. The rally, held at a fundraiser Christie was attending, included members of the Citizens United for Responsible Education New Jersey "(CURE/NJ) were also in attendance to speak out against the controversial program.
