With school out at the July 4 holiday at the end of the week, Wayne Mayor Chris Vergano is asking residents to be mindful of children in the streets.
The Mayor recent released a warning on the township website, and the town has been blasting the message to residents via social media.
"As our township continues to work towards keeping our children safe, I ask you as the Mayor and as a father to 'Keep Kids Alive; Drive 25,'" Vergano said in the note to residents.
In the note, the mayor urged against speeding and cell phone use while driving, citing statistics about child pedestrian fatalities.
