Here are the results for the municipal candidates from the Primary Election. There were no contests in this year's primary.

Incumbent Chris Vergano will face off against Democratic challenger Francine Del Vecchio for a four-year mayoral term.

Vergano was elected in 2008 to finish out the one-year, unexpired term of former Mayor Scott Rumana. Vergano served six years on the council and nine years on the Board of Education.

Del Vecchio teaches education at Caldwell College. She previously taught at Columbia University, her alma mater.

Republican incumbent councilpersons Joseph Schweighardt, Lonni Miller Ryan, and James Jimenez will go up against Democrats Bethania Marranzini-Marmolejos, Victor Alfieri, and Gary Marchese for three, three-year at-large terms.
