PD Captain is set to replace him, report says.

After 35 years with the department, Wayne Police Chief John Reardon has announced that he will retire next January, NorthJersey.com reported.

Current Wayne Police Captain James Clarke will assume the role of Chief once Reardon leaves, the report said.

According to NorthJersey.com, Reardon will be on terminal leave beginning in May, at which time Clarke will become deputy chief until he officially takes over the role in January 2015.
