Wayne Motorcyclist Critically Hurt in Lincoln Tunnel Crash

Accident shuts down Lincoln Tunnel for hours.

A Wayne resident was critically injured after he was run over by a bus in the Lincoln Tunnel Thursday morning, according to an article published in the New York Post.

The Post stated that Keith Nystrom was weaving through traffic in the tunnel's center tube and cut off a NJ Transit bus around 7:30 a.m., which was rear-ended by another bus. Nystrom was pulled underneath the front bus and pinned against the road.

After being freed by police, Nystrom was taken to Bellevue Hospital, the article states.

The Post stated that, according to a Facebook post from his friend Jonathan Aldom, Nystrom reportedly broke both legs and an arm. The post also reportedly quoted Nystrom's wife, Lisa, saying a CAT-scan showed no internal injuries.

The Post quoted eyewitnesses who said that Nystrom was "completely underneath" the front bus, expect for his head; Nystrom was reportedly wearing a helmet.

According to the story, 52 commuters on the two buses were hurt, 14 of them seriously. The tube was not reopened until early afternoon.
