Wayne Man Assaulted His 11-Week-Old Son, Prosecutor Says

A Wayne man was charged with assaulting his 11-week-old child Tuesday, according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes.

Robert Jacoby, 33, brought his injured son to a Wayne hospital and due to the nature of the injuries sustained the child was transferred by helicopter to another hospital, Valdes said Thursday.

After an investigation conducted by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, Jacoby was charged and arrested on April 29 with one count of second-degree aggravated assault and one count of second degree endangering the welfare of a child.
