A Wayne man was charged with assaulting his 11-week-old child Tuesday, according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes.

Robert Jacoby, 33, brought his injured son to a Wayne hospital and due to the nature of the injuries sustained the child was transferred by helicopter to another hospital, Valdes said Thursday.

After an investigation conducted by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, Jacoby was charged and arrested on April 29 with one count of second-degree aggravated assault and one count of second degree endangering the welfare of a child.

The child is currently hospitalized in a pediatric intensive care unit listed in critical but stable condition.

This alleged incident occurred in Wayne on the previous day, prosecutors said.

Aggravated assault carries a maximum sentence of up to ten years in prison and endangering the welfare of a child also carries a maximum term of up to ten years in state prison, prosecutors said Thursday.

Are you kidding Flood Plain ? At 11 weeks old any type of injury to that child should cause a normal human to "dislike" the one who inflicted the injury. And Hillary, you feel bad for the mother ? Heh... ever think that maybe it was the mom who inflicted the injuries and the father took the baby to the hospital taking the fall for the mom ? Just saying...

There is a whole lot of info missing from this article to be able to make a judgement call.

I agree, this man is a compassionate person in the health care profession and always talked proudly of this child. He is a calm person, but something apparently went wrong.........

He is a monster, an evil monster that needs to just go away from society. An innocent child not able to defend himself is fighting for his life and this jerk has a smug look on his face as if he thinks it's amusing.
