Wayne Man, 25, Charged in 7-Eleven Robbery
Clothes and a handgun were found at Valerio Rodano's residence, police said.
A Wayne man has been charged with the armed robbery of the 7-Eleven store on Valley Road Tuesday morning.
Valerio Rodano, 25, was charged Wednesday after police detectives found evidence related to the robbery, clothes and a handgun at his residence, Capt. James Clarke said. A Sig Sauer 226 9mm was seized during the search, Clarke said.
Officer Barry Cole was driving past the store at about 12:40 a.m. Tuesday when he noticed the clerk acting strangely. The clerk told Cole that he was just robbed of $135 at gunpoint and that the man ran up McDonald Drive.

In addition to being charged with robbery, Rodano was charged with possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and unlawful possession of a weapon. Bail was set at $100,000.
Rodano was booked at the Wayne police headquarters and transported to the Passaic County Jail.

Rodano was charged in 2009 with conspiracy, robbery, and aiding and abetting in the commission of a crime, NorthJersey.com reported when the charges were filed. Rodano reportedly robbed the Sunoco gas station at the intersection of French Hill Roadand Alps Road, the report states; he allegedly robbed the attendant of $900, police said.
