Wayne Hills Diner Reopens Following Fire

Fire broke out in the basement of the restaurant late Monday night. Authorities are still investigating what caused the fire.

The Wayne Hills Diner has reopened following a fire in the basement of the 24-hour establishment late Monday night.

A fire broke out in the basement at about 11 p.m. Monday. The fire reportedly started on a storage rack. 

Authorities were working on determing the cause of the blaze. Fire Commissioner Steven Toth could not be reached for comment.

The fire was contained to the basement. The sprinkler system kept the blaze contained.

The establishment was evacuated after the fire started. The police department's Arson Investigation Unit is still investigating the fire.

The reopening was contingent upon the building passing an inspection given by the Wayne Health Department.
