Wayne Driver Kills Moose, Meat Donated to Family

The accident happened in Vermont Friday, report says.

A Wayne man driving a Land Rover in Vermont was uninjured when he hit and killed a moose Friday, the Bennington Banner reported.

According to the report, William Fairweather, 69, was driving on Route 9 in Searsburg when a moose walked out onto the highway. The moose did not survive the collision, the report said.

The moose was removed from the highway by a Vermont State Game Warden, and the animal’s meat was donated to a family in the area, it said.
