Correction: Township attorney Matthew Giacobbe said that Hageman was not fired from her position. He said she resigned.
A township employee resigned from her position earlier this month.
Barbara Hageman, who worked in the recreation department’s office, stole $80 from the township, court documents show.
Hageman was charged with theft of moveable property. If convicted, she could be sentenced to six months in jail and be fined up to $1,000.
She was due in municipal court Oct. 17, but failed to show. The matter may have been transferred to another jurisdiction because Hageman is a former employee, Court Administrator Lori Ellicott said.
A phone number for Hageman was not listed.
Mayor Chris Vergano and Administrator Neal Bellet did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
