Isaac Rinas 911 Audio: 'My Friend Just Got Shot—He's Dying'

Rinas was shot and killed in Paterson hours after he graduated from Wayne Valley High School.

Authorities have released audio from the 911 call that Casey Cole made after Isaac Rinas was shot and killed in Paterson the night of his high school graduation.

The three-minute call was posted on NJ.com Wednesday night.

Rinas was shot in the neck after what authorities said was a robbery-gone-wrong that Cole arraigned after he allegedly promised Rinas he would help him purchase a handgun.

“My friend just got shot,” Cole said to the dispatcher. “He’s dying. Isaac put pressure on it!”

Cole told the dispatcher that a “tall skinny black guy” shot Rinas.

Police said Rinas drove Cole to Paterson after graduation in an attempt to buy a handgun. But Cole allegedly set Rinas up: Cole and Bishma Cowan had planned in advance to rob Rinas of the $350 he had with him when they arrived, authorities said.

Rinas and Cole were told to wait for Quashon Faircloth on Fair Street. Once parked, Faircloth entered the vehicle and ordered Cole out of the car; he then shot and killed Rinas once he exited the vehicle, authorities said.

Faircloth, 27, of Paterson, was charged with murder, felony murder, and weapons offenses.  Cole, 18, of Wayne, was charged with felony murder, robbery, and conspiracy to commit robbery. Cowan, 24, of Paterson, was charged with murder and robbery.

Faircloth pleaded not guilty to the charges in July.
