Sex Misconduct Charges Served to Wayne Man Posing as 'BobbyBrown'

Warehouse helper charged with attempted sexual assault, sheriff said.

A Wayne man was charged with sexual misconduct after he had sexually explicit conversations with an undercover detective posing as a 14-year-old, Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik announced last week.

The man, Dewayne E. Stewart, 42, was using the screen name "BobbyBrown58" when he allegedly attempted to make arrangements to meet up with the detective. An undercover sheriff's detective went online and pretended to be a 14-year-old girl. After making contact with Stewart, detective and Stewart engaged in sexually explicit chats, Berdnik said.

Stewart used the screen name "BobbyBrown58" and attempted to make arrangements to meet the detective to have sex.

Stewart, a warehouse helper at Standard Tile in Totowa, was arrested at work.
Authorities initially tracked Stewart to a Clifton address, Berdnik said.
During the investigation, Stewart moved or stayed at possible three different addresses in Pasasic County, Berknik said.

Stewart was charged with attempted sexual assault of a minor, two counts of attempted sexual contact of a minor, and attempted luring and enticing a minor.
Superior court Judge Marilyn Clark set bail at $100,000 with no 10 percent option.
