A second man has been arrested in the shooting death of Isaac Rinas, 18, of Wayne, NorthJersey.com reports.

Bishma Cowan, 24, of Paterson was arrested Sunday afternoon and charged with murder and robbery in the Wayne Valley graduate's death. Paterson police declined to say whether they believe Cowan was the gunman who allegedly shot Rinas in the neck, NorthJersey.com reports.

Casey Cole, 18, of Wayne, a classmate of Rinas’, was charged Friday with felony murder, robbery, and conspiracy to commit robbery

Hours after graduating Wayne Valley, Cole and Rinas were in Rinas' Infiniti G37 in Paterson when a man entered the back seat of the vehicle at Fair and East 18th streets and brandished a handgun in an attempted robbery, police have said.

Rinas was shot in the neck at approximately 9 p.m. in the altercation in an area known for drug and gang activity, authorities have said.

Passaic Chief Assistant Prosecutor Michael DeMarco has said that Cole "is not the alleged shooter."

Cole is being held on $2 million cash bail. Information related to Cowan's bail and status was not immediately available Monday night.

A celebration of Rinas’ life will be held at Vander May Wayne Funeral Home on Tuesday at 10 a.m., an obituary on the funeral home’s website states.

If the Paterson police know that this area is dangerous and has drug sales, why not station a car there at all times and have cameras taking pic of the out of town license plates? Because they will only move elsewhere? then bring in another car and cameras.

WR , not only a 3rd man but a complete shift in the story as to what was going on.
Hugh Topian July 02, 2013 at 01:23 PM
Patch won't shift its reporting to reflect the reality that everyone involved was guilty.

Yet, we, the tax payers, continue to be taxed at insane rates, to pay for the entitlement programs that support these animals in the Black Hole that is Paterson, NJ. Wayne kids, STAY OUT OF THE BLACK HOLE!!! Yes, there should be road blocks & check points at every entrance to this wasteland that neighbors out town. They should all be cut off from any tax dollar or entitlement program until the hell hole black pit of a city gets cleaned up. We all know Cowan & the other shooter did not have fathers. But, we get taxed to send the single diapers and rent, and they create killers. Wayne folks, stay out of Paterson.

Rhonda, I was going to agree with your post up until the point where you said "we all know they don't have fathers"- that is a pretty ample assumption you have made there. Do all children without fathers grow up to become murderers? I lost my father at a young age and I did not turn out that way. And, how do you know they didn't have fathers? I didn't read that in the article anywhere.

Teddy, just quoting a federal stat. 70% of the children born in Paterson, NJ are born into a single parent, single Mother household. Not talking widows here. This social experiment of Urban babies being born into single parent households has officially failed. No on has the courage to acknowledge it, or vocalize it. I will bet money that the 2 shooters were raised in a single Mother household. While I am sure their Mothers are heartbroken, too, enough is enough. Things have to change.

I am just so heartbroken for this young man and his family. I do not mean to sound harsh. The situation is devastating.

Heroin addicts or former heroin addicts are not to be trusted. I have been burned by one once. He took the whole deposit money and bounced. Scumbag.
